Review of "The Calmness in the Riot" "Wow, this CD made me feel really good! You don't come across too many bands that can do that these days. This music is a blend of meaningful lyrics backed by talented musicians who do this because they enjoy creating music. They are not doing it for the fame? That's something you don't hear everyday. I really enjoyed the song "Distractions". One reason was because it was catchy and I really liked the lyrics, but mostly because of all the effects they used on singer Nikki Boyer's voice thoughout the music. I was also suprised to hear an acoustic cover of Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" at the end of the cd. They pulled it off very nicely. I was pleasantly suprised when I heard this band because I'm normally not into music like this so I definetly think you should check them out.

I just listened to The Spirit Theory's CD. "Distractions" & "What I've Learned So Far", and as a fellow musician I can appreciate the lyrical content, metaphysical overtones, and timed delivery of Nikki's vocals in the music. Nik and her band have found a unique niche in today's "overdone" market for fresh alternative stylings - and I feel that the chord that they are striking is much needed in today's listening audience.

I'm absolutely enjoying their music. Nikki has an amazing voice that is soft and soothing. The lyrics strike a chord because they are so heartfelt and true. The album is well done, the orchestral flourishes and the great ear candy and Nikki's unique voice conveys real feelings. It seems it's one of those albums that you enjoy more each time around. I only wish it had more than 8 tracks!

This is the CD that you can wake up to in the morning, go to sleep to at night or use while taking a relaxing bath. The songs strike a personal chord in you. You feel the energy through the lyrics and the melodies. Definetly my new favorite CD.
