 Garo has played music for over twenty years, starting with classical piano and later picking up bass guitar, drums and percussion.
In 1992 he formed Stream, an original jam-fusion trio in Berkeley, California. There he developed his improvisational style of bass playing. He also studied and performed traditional and folkloric drums of West Africa, Cuba, and Haiti at various venues in the Bay Area for over 10 years before returning to Los Angeles. In Summer of 2002 he co-created the jazz/funk trio, Autoflow.
Garo is inspired by musicians such as Miles Davis, Jaco Pastorius, Bob Marley, and John McLaughlin. He joined The Spirit Theory in 2005. |
